Lots of climbing and imagination

This month both kids have been developing some great talents. #1 is now a superb climber. She can climb up the futon and sit in the window. She also enjoys climbing up the chairs and standing on the table. We are having a hard time finding a safe place for him to place with small toys and have some non-sister playtime. We have resorted to having him play on the diaper changing table which is tall, but not a very big space. He is a pretty good sport about it.

#2 has a great imagination. As a lot of you have heard, he has brought home some friendly and active "shadow dogs". Last week on our way to his first day of preschool he clearly reported "my dogs are coming with me mom". I asked, "Where are they going?", he replied, "In the car, right now. Right there." I have started asking him questions about his dogs and Isaac always has a ready answer.
Q: How many dogs do you have?
A: 5 dogs, (counting on fingers) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Q:What color are your dogs?
A: Green, and blue, and orange, and pink, and yellow, and red. (Then he pointed to each dog and said what color they were)

Q:What are your dogs names?
A: Playdoy. All of them are named Playdoy, and all of their friends are named Playdoy.

Here is my favorite incident with the dogs. I had asked my son where his dogs were, he replied, on the red chair. A few minutes later, Isaac ran over to the green rocking chair and bumped it so it started moving, then he ran back over to the red chair. He then announced, "now they are on the green chair!" It looked like the dogs had jumped from the red chair to the green chair. I was laughing pretty hard, I thought that was pretty clever.

So that is the fun we are experiencing right now.

Spring visits

This is my third attempt at keeping a blog. We will see how it goes. It is almost June and I wanted to write a little something for April and May.

The kids are both growing up very fast and are beautiful to watch. I am trying to teach our son to be gentle with his sisters but it doesn't work when she laughs at the abuse. He will give her a head butt (pretty hard) and she will give a big smile and a spunky giggle. That pretty much sums up their relationship, lots of laughing and rough housing.

#1 is starting to walk, just one step and tumble at a time. #2 can express himself freely now and is shaping up to be a pretty funny guy. One of our favorite puns is when he realized that Jenny sounded like January, so he called Jenuary Jenny the whole time she visited with us in April.

We had a great visit with Jenny. She came out to Boston the week after Easter. It was short and sweet. We also flew the whole family to Kentucky at the beginning of April. It was a lot of fun. Kentucky is a beautiful place and has really great fried chicken. KFC does not do that state justice. It was great seeing both of my sisters. I will have to wait until June to see the last one. Hopefully more about that next time!

I don't know what else to say since so much has happened. I guess this is a good start and I will try to be more exciting next time.
